Hand drawn design possibly for T-shirt, For this i used sharpie pens and uni pin fine liners. At the moment i've been thinking more about developing my use of lettering with in my illustration work that doesn't have a distinct graffiti style to them.
I've recently been researching in to the different kinds of type faces and letters forms and how when and why they were created through out history starting with black letter typefaces up to the present day.
I think the era that appeals to me the most is the hand drawn lettering of the 40's and 50's, although i'm looking into starting to create more work digitally on illustrator and photo shop mainly to make myself more employable, i still have a fondness and preference to hand crafted lettering and illustration.
I was thinking of using my crew name forty eight (an anagram of toy fighter) and changing it into more of a brand, with five letters in both forty and eight it has a good balance to it.
The we come at night was put on to fill up some space and balance the piece out, also it relates to the owl and to the fact that writers do a lot of their work in the cover of darkness too. I did some others with werewolves on for the same reason and kept it in the old horror film looking font.
